Breaking News: Winter Storm Warning!

A winter storm warning is in effect through 6 am Wednesday.

We will see light snow developing this evening with one to three inches expected in the morning and temporary stay in the middle 20's.

Snow may mix with some sleet and freezing rain during a late morning and afternoon in mid-Topeka when the warmer air in the air with surface temperatures remaining at or below freezing. Areas north and west of Topeka look to stay all snow. Areas south and east to see more of a mixture in the day on Tuesday. Look for a quick transition back to snow Tuesday night as colder air starts pushing back in the region. The snow may become heavy at times in the afternoon and evening hours on Tuesday! The snow will end Tuesday night, however, that blows and the displacement of the snow will become an issue as the mercury plummets to the bottom adolescents.

Nevada total of about 6 inches is predicted Topeka, 3 to 6 inches from the Turnpike to I-35 as a corridor of Lawrence and Emporia. Lighter total is expected farther south and east of I-35. Heavier totals are expected to west and north with a wide area of 6 to 12 inches designed to Salina, Manhattan and the San Jose, MO area. A band of a foot or more will be possible from Concordia near Seneca and Hiawatha. Needless to say that the trip will be recommended by Tuesday afternoon!

It seems that the snow sticks around a while, thanks to the arrival of an arctic air mass ... After some blowing snow on the morning of Wednesday afternoon awaiting compensation windy and cold conditions in adolescence for an afternoon high. Factoring in the wind, you feel as if you were below zero in time.

The actual air temperature is projected to fall to near zero at night on Wednesday. Brrr! Despite plenty of sunshine on Thursday, appears to remain very cold with highs only in the mid 20s. We will see a slight chance of snow coming again on Friday.
