RECORD-BREAKING Shane Williams, the plaudits lavished upon him as he was the first Welshman to press the magic 50-landmark attempt to Test level.
Super Shane's two-try salvo in the second half helped Warren Gatland's men romp to a 33-16 victory over Argentina.
It was the first time Williams has raced over the line for Wales since with the name IRB World Player of the Year 12 months ago. But Wales coach Gatland had stayed with his flying wing through the lean times in 2009 ... and his confidence in his people was vindicated yesterday.
Try number 49, came when Williams pounced on a Puma error a minute into the second half to break argentina resistance.
Try number 50 in the 64th minute, a typical individualistic effort that has enthralled Millennium Stadium crowd on the edge of their seats applauding.
Gatland said afterwards that the Williams X-Factor has ... while Wales captain Ryan Jones with him compared to the leading goalscorers in the Premier League.
"Shane is such a talented rugby player. This is a big if you have two, three or four players on your team with the X-factor, and we are fortunate he is one of those," purred Gatland.
"Maybe he has his first attempt at a little more difficult than he would have done, but it's great to see him with ball in hand and try to score for Wales again."
Welsh skipper Jones beamed: "I compare with Shane at a Premier football striker.
"He is a predator, someone who would always walk out of the tunnel with you."
Williams himself said: "I'm in the team to score tries and it's always great to cross the line.
"It's always great to reach landmarks, but this one is very much for the team. It was a massive game for us."
Gatland's men will look to round their autumn campaign with a victory the following weekend in Australia, which dramatically beaten 9-8 by Scotland last night.
And Gatland said: "We still believe there is another level in us and it is about improving the game by game, week to week.
"The next step is to try our percentage of wins to get 75%, but we are pleased with the progress we make."
