India-US relations and Pakistan's concerns

During his recent meeting with President Obama in Washington, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tried to consolidate a transformed relationship under the Bush administration from mere friendship to a "key ally" that led to agreement on nuclear cooperation and collaboration of unprecedented security . It also reported that Obama sought the support of his candidacy for a permanent seat on the Security Council of the UN. He gave assurances that the U.S. not neglect India while pursuing close ties with Pakistan and China.
